BLUEFISH
WIRELESS LICENSES HYPERCEREUS' CODING COMPLIANCE DATA
Bluefish
Wireless to Provide Physicians an Advanced Charge Capture
Application Powered by HyperCereus Medical's Suite of Coding
Compliance Data Sets
Tucson,
AZ, and San Francisco, CA, May 6, 2003- Bluefish Wireless
Inc., developer of a communication platform that enables
two-way data exchange using infrared, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or
GSM/GPRS, announced today a licensing agreement for HyperCereus
Medical's coding compliance and medical necessity data solutions.
Developed
specifically for Palm OS handheld devices, the BluefishRx-Pro
charge capture application provides secure point-of-care
tools, which are designed to streamline the business of
medicine for physicians. The suite enables physicians to
capture diagnoses, treatments and other billing information
at the point-of-care, which results in a reduction of errors
and paperwork, and leads to a significantly more efficient
billing process.
Completed
charges are electronically transmitted to the billing department
wirelessly or by beaming on a Bluefish Access Point, which
in turn sends it via a local wireless network. Charges can
also be printed directly from the handheld through an infrared-enabled
printer. BluefishRx-Pro makes the process of charge capture
quick, simple and accurate while reducing the chances of
error and fraud.
"The inability to access compliance and medical necessity
rules at the point-of-care results in coding errors costing
U.S. physicians and the healthcare system billions of dollars
each year," said Fabio Almeida, M.D., president and
founder of HyperCereus Medical. "The goal of the partnership
with Bluefish is to provide physicians with mobile devices
enabled with coding and medical necessity rules at the point-of-care.
This can insure that physicians and hospital clients are
properly reimbursed for the services they render, and improve
compliance with Medicare's medical necessity requirements."
"Defining
and capture of the medical necessity rules is extremely
complicated and resource intensive." said James Fisher,
CEO of Bluefish Wireless. "HyperCereus' compliance
and medical necessity data solutions were selected due to
their superior quality and comprehensiveness. Through the
partnership with HyperCereus Medical, we will be able to
provide physicians with the data necessary to make informed
decisions when they are best positioned to produce complete,
correct submissions - at the point-of-care, when the procedure
and diagnosis are first being considered."
